The Turkish government has secured a sixth prototype of the locally manufactured TAI Kaan combat aircraft to support advanced testing and validation efforts.

The prototype will be subjected to stress tests, avionics system evaluations, high-speed taxiing, and runway handling to assess its full performance potential.

These tests are seen by Ankara as essential steps toward reaching operational readiness and initiating serial production for the Turkish Air Force.

According to local outlet Ulusavunma, the Kaan will be delivered to the military in incremental phases post-prototype, with capabilities enhanced in each successive batch.

Later development blocks—specifically Block 30 and 40—will introduce a domestically produced engine and continue through intensive ground and flight trials to achieve final certification.
