The UK Ministry of Defence has awarded Chemring subsidiary Roke a major £251 million contract to head missile defense research projects alongside industry collaborators. The long-term agreement supports efforts to shield the UK and allies from current and evolving threats, including hypersonic weapons. Working with the Missile Defence Centre, Roke will manage technical teams and ensure most of the program is executed domestically, emphasizing sovereign capability development with a UK-based workforce.
