The US Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) has awarded Australian company Q-CTRL $24.4 million in contracts to advance quantum sensing technologies for military vehicles.

Quantum systems enable navigation without GPS in areas affected by jamming, spoofing, or signal loss.

As part of the program, Q-CTRL will develop next-generation quantum navigation sensors, building on prior trials across air, sea, and land platforms.

The sensors, supported by AI-driven software, are designed to function reliably on moving military vehicles without requiring traditional shielding or isolation.

Lockheed Martin will join the effort as a subcontractor, contributing its expertise in GPS and quantum technologies.
