India has awarded Paras Anti-Drone Technologies a ₹461.9 million ($5.2 million) contract to supply advanced anti-drone systems for the nation’s armed forces. The deal, issued through the Ministry of Defense, covers the delivery of jammers capable of detecting and disabling hostile UAVs in border and high-security areas. Paras stated that its systems employ radio-frequency (RF) jamming and signal disruption to neutralize unauthorized drones used for surveillance or attacks. Operating across the 400 MHz–6 GHz frequency band, the equipment can be custom-configured for diverse operational environments.

India’s investment in counter-drone technology has surged following increasing aerial incursions along the Pakistan border, particularly in Jammu and Punjab, where drones have been used to drop weapons, narcotics, and surveillance payloads. The Indian Air Force and Border Security Force have already fielded similar systems for base protection and frontier patrols, while anti-drone defenses were deployed during events such as the 2023 G20 Summit and Republic Day. This initiative supports Aatmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India) by encouraging the indigenous development of advanced defense technologies and reducing reliance on foreign imports.
