Iveco Defence Vehicles has been selected by the NATO Support and Procurement Agency to lead a multi-year project focused on concept development and experimentation in robotic and autonomous systems (RAS).

Over the course of the three-year contract, the Italian company will merge uncrewed land and aerial platforms to exhibit integrated RAS functionality during simulated, real-world conflict conditions.

Platform integration and control will be managed using a “common advanced interoperable command and control system distributed across pre-defined network nodes,” as stated by Iveco.

Operational end-users will take part throughout the process, from early-stage concept design to hands-on implementation of the technology.
