Indonesia has inked a nearly $1 billion deal to procure two Istif-class frigates from Turkey during a defense event in Istanbul. The agreement supports Jakarta’s naval expansion amid rising regional tensions and deepens its industrial collaboration with Turkish shipbuilder TAIS and local firm PT PAL.
