Cyprus-based Theon International has secured a contract with the Organisation for Joint Armament Cooperation (OCCAR) to supply its next-generation IRIS-C thermal clip-on systems to Germany and Belgium.
The deal is initially worth 50 million euros ($58.7 million), with an option to extend up to 150 million euros ($176 million). Deliveries are planned between 2026 and 2027, with Andres Industries of Germany responsible for maintenance and support.
The IRIS-C is designed to upgrade existing optical sights with advanced thermal imaging, making it compatible with both Theon and third-party night vision goggles. It delivers fused imagery, enhancing detection, recognition, and tracking across diverse lighting and environmental conditions.
When connected to Theon’s Smart Battery Pack or Smart Gateway, the system can also project augmented reality data such as friend-or-foe identification, target cues, and mission overlays, while remaining fully integrated with Battle Management Systems.
