Elbit Systems Ltd revealed that it has secured a $260 million contract from Airbus Defence and Space to deliver J-MUSIC™ DIRCM self-protection systems for integration on Germany’s A400M military transport aircraft. The six-year contract comes as part of a Bundeswehr procurement program overseen by the Federal Office for Equipment, Information Technology and Operations (BAAINBw).

The J-MUSIC™ system, a member of Elbit’s MUSIC™ family, is designed to counter infrared-guided missile threats—particularly those from MANPADS. Leveraging cutting-edge laser and imaging technologies, the DIRCM system provides real-time, autonomous missile detection, tracking, and neutralization. Its modular and scalable framework allows seamless integration with various aircraft and missile warning systems, while its compact design ensures low impact on aircraft payload and overall performance.
