Pakistan has reportedly started taking delivery of Z-10ME attack helicopters from China as part of a broader effort to modernize its tactical helicopter fleet.
Though neither Islamabad nor Beijing has officially acknowledged the transfer, visual evidence—such as videos and photographs of the helicopters bearing Pakistan Army markings—confirms the deliveries.
Pakistan has long been seeking replacements for its aging AH-1F Cobra helicopters, which have served since the 1980s. A U.S. offer to supply AH-1Z Viper helicopters was approved in 2015 but was later suspended due to diplomatic tensions.
This delay allowed China to step in with the Z-10ME, the export variant of its indigenous attack helicopter, filling the gap left by the stalled U.S. deal.
After years of speculation, the latest developments indicate the Z-10ME program has moved beyond trial and initial production, signaling its formal adoption by Pakistan.
