The Czech Ministry of Defense has announced the procurement of 18 Supacat HMT Extenda armored vehicles to modernize its special forces fleet. Delivery will be handled by Czech defense company LPP, while the state-owned VTÚ will integrate weapons, communications, and other systems.

The purchase includes £32.6 million ($44 million) for chassis and an additional 810 million Czech koruna ($39 million) for systems integration. The Extenda vehicles will replace outdated Land Rovers currently in service with the 601st Special Forces Group.

Military officials emphasized that the new platforms will boost special forces mobility and readiness for operational tasks under both national and allied commitments. The Supacat Extenda features exceptional off-road performance, modular protection options, and the ability to switch between 4×4 and 6×6 layouts for greater payload flexibility.

The 4×4 model supports a load of 2,100 kilograms (4,629 pounds), while the 6×6 variant raises this to 3,900 kilograms (8,598 pounds). The vehicle can be equipped with mine-blast and ballistic kits, seats four to six personnel depending on the version, and reaches speeds of up to 120 kilometers per hour (75 mph) with a range of 1,000 kilometers (621 miles).

Already in service with forces from the UK, USA, Netherlands, Norway, Denmark, New Zealand, and Ukraine, the Extenda ensures high interoperability with NATO allies and partners.
