Cyprus has inducted two H-10 Poseidon surveillance unmanned aerial systems into National Guard service, with the platforms supplied by local drone manufacturer Swarmly Aero, local outlets reported.

The H-10 Poseidon is optimized for all-weather, day-and-night operations, capable of flying at altitudes of up to 5 kilometers and operating at ranges of 50 kilometers.

Its primary roles include reconnaissance and artillery fire coordination, delivering real-time intelligence on enemy movements and target locations.

Designed with survivability in mind, the drone features low detectability through a reduced thermal footprint and minimal radar reflectivity.

The platform is equipped with robust anti-jamming and anti-spoofing capabilities, allowing continued operations in environments with intense electronic warfare.

In the event of GPS disruption, the system can rely on alternative satellite navigation solutions to maintain mission continuity.

The H-10 Poseidon has been combat-tested in Ukraine, where more than 200 units have reportedly been supplied, alongside additional exports to Indonesia.

Alongside domestic drone development, Cyprus continues to broaden its acquisition of advanced military equipment from international partners.

In April last year, the country received its first pair of Airbus H145M multirole helicopters under a 2022 contract that includes a total of six aircraft for National Guard modernization.

These deliveries followed a US policy shift in early 2025 enabling Cyprus to access foreign military hardware through programs such as Foreign Military Sales.

US officials have stated that supplying defense equipment to Cyprus is intended to reinforce national security and contribute to long-term stability in the eastern Mediterranean.
