The U.S. State Department has cleared a possible $8.5 billion arms sale to Denmark, covering Patriot PAC-3 MSE air defense systems with IBCS integration. The Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) has formally informed Congress, paving the way for Denmark to strengthen its air and missile defense with one of the most advanced U.S. systems.
Denmark’s request includes 36 Patriot GEM-T missiles for defending against aircraft, cruise missiles, and some ballistic threats, along with 20 PAC-3 MSE interceptors capable of intercepting advanced ballistic and hypersonic-like targets.
Additional equipment consists of two AN/MPQ-65 radar units, two Engagement Control Stations, six Patriot launchers, IBCS fire control and collaboration systems, operations centers, and power plant units. The package further provides communication and encryption devices, GPS systems, IFF modules, training simulators, spares, technical manuals, and comprehensive logistical support to ensure operational capability.
