
Rheinmetall BAE Systems Land’s Telford plant, the vehicle has been sent to Bovington to be used for training and maintenance familiarization. This milestone is part of a £5-billion ($6.1-billion) modernization effort supplying the army with 623 Boxers and 148 Challenger 3 tanks by 2030. The handover also signifies the first domestically manufactured armored vehicle in the UK since 2013, when production of the Terrier fighting vehicle ceased. The highly modular Boxer, designed for the Strike Brigades, can swiftly transport soldiers and mission systems over diverse terrains. At 7.93 meters in length, 2.37 meters in height, and 2.99 meters in width, it seats 11 crew members, can travel up to 103 km/h (64 mph), and offers a range of 1,050 km (652 miles).
