Hybrid Air Vehicles (HAV) has announced reservations for three Airlander 10 hybrid airships — the first confirmed for defense adaptation.
Placed by a confidential defense client, the order highlights interest in Airlander’s extended flight duration and logistical flexibility.
The airship is capable of continuous flight for five days without refueling and can launch from a variety of terrains, including water surfaces.
Originally a civilian design, its modular frame enables fast conversion into ISR, transport, or drone-carrier variants.
With a payload capacity of more than three tonnes, it can support robust sensor arrays for surveillance over contested zones.
The aircraft’s quiet, low-heat signature reduces detectability, while its fuel-efficient system lowers mission costs.
HAV anticipates more defense partnerships as armed forces expand their fleet of persistent, multi-role aerial platforms.
