General Atomics Aeronautical Systems Inc. is modifying its MQ-9B drone family to enable strikes at extended ranges, supporting broader airpower and naval deployment concepts.

As part of this effort, the company is said to be evaluating the integration of Lockheed Martin’s JASSM and LRASM missiles on its SkyGuardian and SeaGuardian variants.

JASSM is capable of striking targets beyond 370 kilometers (230 miles), and LRASM is assessed to deliver a similar long-range capability, giving the MQ-9B a substantial boost in stand-off firepower.
