Swedish defense company Saab and Ukraine’s Joint Stock Company Ukrainian Defense Industry (JS UDI) have agreed to expand cooperation in aerospace and airborne monitoring technologies.
The memorandum, revealed in Munich at a multinational security meeting, calls for collaboration on aircraft platforms, radar equipment, avionics integration, and surveillance systems to bolster Ukraine’s defense capabilities. The document was signed by Saab Deputy CEO Anders Carp and JS UDI chief Herman Smetanin.
Established by the Ukrainian government, JS UDI consolidates over 130 defense enterprises and stands among the world’s leading arms producers. Saab, a prominent global defense contractor, manufactures the JAS 39 Gripen and the Carl-Gustaf recoilless rifle.
