Poland has taken a major step toward domestic production of advanced air defence systems by signing an agreement to build a CAMM-ER missile manufacturing and servicing center in Zielonka.

The new facility will be developed at Military Electronic Works, part of the PGZ group, and will support the country’s NAREW air defence program. It will handle missile assembly, maintenance, and eventually full production of the CAMM-ER medium-range interceptor.

Valued at 129.4 million Polish złoty ($34.6 million), the project includes construction of a production hall, protected storage areas, and expanded logistics infrastructure, with completion targeted for 2028.

The facility is expected to play a key role in equipping 23 NAREW batteries with more than 1,000 missiles, significantly strengthening Poland’s air defence network. The agreement also incorporates technology transfer from MBDA, enabling local production capabilities, system integration, and testing.

This initiative aligns with Poland’s broader strategy to expand its defence manufacturing ecosystem. In recent years, PGZ and BAE Systems announced plans for a large-scale 155mm ammunition plant, while L3Harris has established ISR sensor production in Katowice. Additionally, Leonardo’s AW149 helicopter production line at PZL-Świdnik reflects continued growth in Poland’s aerospace and defence sector.
