Indra Sistemas has finalized the development and certification of its TSUB-40Ka submarine communication terminal, leveraging Ka-band technology to deliver faster and more efficient satellite-based data transmission.
By operating in the higher-frequency Ka-band, the system enables broadband connectivity with data rates exceeding several Mbps, offering a clear upgrade over conventional X-band and Ku-band systems. The higher frequency also allows for smaller antenna sizes, making the terminal ideal for integration into submarines where space is limited.
The solution meets established military standards while enhancing communication capabilities, supporting modern operational requirements for secure and reliable data exchange.
Certified by HISDESAT, the TSUB-40Ka is designed to operate with SpainSat NG, Spain’s next-generation satellite system. The satellite provides secure communications across X-band, military Ka-band, and UHF frequencies, ensuring robust, long-range connectivity for defence applications.
