The Joint Multinational Training Group–Ukraine (JMTG-U), a US-led program supporting Ukrainian forces with training and capability development, has conducted a live-fire exercise using the Skydio X10 Delta (X10D) drone to drop 117 live M67 fragmentation grenades.
The test, held at Grafenwoehr Training Area in Germany, saw the JMTG-U Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Innovation Team assess the US Army’s Audible Dropper system, designed to give frontline troops greater precision in aerial munitions delivery.
During the exercise, the team made refinements to improve system reliability and ensure operational viability.
The X10D drone, developed by US-based Skydio and included on the Blue UAS cleared list, highlights Washington’s growing emphasis on drone-enabled warfare.
Capable of reaching 72 km/h (45 mph) and deploying in under 40 seconds, the drone features modular high-resolution visual and radiometric thermal cameras for detailed situational imagery.
Its VT300-Z sensor package includes a telephoto lens for rapid detection of vehicles, humans, and objects, while its Teledyne FLIR Boson+ thermal sensor supports precise thermal measurements across varied conditions.
