The Polish Ministry of Defense has selected L3Harris’ AN/ALQ-254(V)1 Viper Shield to upgrade the nation’s F-16 Vipers.

Competing against Northrop Grumman’s AN/ALQ-257 IVEWS, the Viper Shield will be fitted as part of efforts to modernize 48 Block 52 jets into the Block 70 configuration, the latest version of the fighter already adopted by several countries.

Designed to protect pilots with an electronic shield, the suite merges a radar warning receiver and RF memory-based jammer within an internal mount.

Its seamless integration with the APG-83 AESA radar further sharpens situational awareness and threat detection in contested environments.
