SpaceX’s Starshield communications platform is now in use by US Army Reserve soldiers to improve tactical decision-making in combat environments. Using laser technology, the system enables high-speed, low-latency data transfer worldwide, achieving 300–500 Mbps upload speeds with latency down to 25 milliseconds. “We run a five-terabyte global plan to switch our Starlinks into Starshields,” said an Army captain.
