The US House of Representatives has approved $10 million to advance development of a new radar system at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida.

The project will focus on CHAOS Industries’ ASTRIA radar, a mobile system designed to track multiple objects during testing and training exercises. Unlike traditional radars, ASTRIA uses “coherent distributed networking” that connects numerous small, low-cost radar nodes into a single integrated system.

According to the California-based company, the system’s effectiveness increases as more nodes are added, delivering wider coverage and more precise tracking. Once operational, the radar will provide aircrews with more realistic training against modern air and missile threats, strengthening readiness amid global security challenges.
