Baykar Technology has announced that its upgraded Bayraktar TB2T-AI drone set a new class record by reaching 40,000 feet (12,192 meters) during a recent test flight.

The unmanned combat aerial vehicle (UCAV) reportedly hit speeds of 160 knots (300 kilometers/186 miles per hour) and climbed to 30,000 feet (9,144 meters) in just half an hour.

According to Baykar, the drone sustained a peak altitude of 40,023 feet (12,199 meters), exceeding its earlier benchmark of 37,096 feet (11,306 meters). The company did not disclose the total flight time.
