Turkey is rolling out a new hard-kill counter-UAS system, a remotely operated weapon platform capable of firing up to 3,000 rounds per minute to deter hostile drones.
Developed by Unirobotics, the Trakon Lite 134 integrates artificial intelligence–driven target tracking with a NATO-compliant M134 Gatling-type machine gun, providing a compact yet high-rate-of-fire solution for defeating fast-moving UAVs.
The system incorporates Echodyne’s EchoGuard radar, which enables automatic detection and tracking of multiple aerial targets across a broad surveillance area. Once identified, the onboard fire-control system determines engagement timing and delivers accurate, controlled fire against incoming threats.
Designed for flexibility and mobility, Trakon Lite 134 features a lightweight architecture that allows it to be mounted on vehicles or unmanned ground platforms without excessive payload demands. According to Unirobotics, the system has successfully completed qualification testing and is ready for operational deployment.
The capability arrives as Turkey reports a growing number of drone intrusions, described by officials as possible fallout from ongoing Russian attacks in Ukraine. In December 2025, three unidentified drones crashed in Turkey’s northwest over a five-day period.
Unirobotics says Trakon Lite 134 is intended to counter such incidents by combining rapid detection with immediate kinetic engagement of aerial threats.
