Korean Air and LIG Nex1 have teamed up to compete for South Korea’s Block-I electronic warfare (EW) aircraft program, a 1.78-trillion-won ($1.31B) project to develop the nation’s first large-scale electronic attack platform. Their proposal, due in early September, involves a modified mid-sized civilian aircraft capable of detecting and disrupting enemy signals and air defense networks. Korean Air would manage integration, modification, and production, while LIG Nex1 would lead EW system development and installation.
