Airbus Completes First Autonomous Helicopter Flight With Shield AI Tech
Aerospace leader Airbus has successfully carried out its first autonomous helicopter test flight using Shield AI’s Hivemind autonomy system.
The H145 helicopter served as the test platform, chosen to streamline development, reduce costs, and lower technical risks while advancing the technology.
During the flight, Hivemind acted as the pilot, fully integrated with Airbus’ Helionix avionics suite to control the helicopter’s mission systems.
