Rheinmetall has expanded its soldier protection lineup with the launch of a lightweight combat helmet and a scalable body armor platform aimed at modern military requirements.

Designed to reduce burden while improving fit and adaptability, the new gear allows personnel to modify protection levels based on operational needs. The company is introducing the body armor solution at Enforce Tac 2026 in Germany.

The helmet reflects Rheinmetall’s established role as a key NATO supplier, supported by recent high-volume deliveries through German acquisition programs. Made from advanced polyethylene composite materials, it achieves weight savings without compromising ballistic resistance.

Available in high-cut and full-coverage configurations, the helmet offers flexibility between expanded protection and better integration with communication systems. Enhanced suspension and padding systems improve wearer comfort, while upgraded rails and mounting points facilitate the attachment of night-vision and other mission equipment. Removing the requirement for a separate hairnet simplifies compatibility with additional accessories.

The accompanying modular body armor system is fully mission-adaptable. Soft armor panels shield critical torso areas, with optional hard plates providing higher levels of ballistic defense. Supplemental protection elements cover vulnerable zones such as the neck, shoulders, arms, and thighs. Integrated load-bearing components—including a chest rig, pouches, and carry bags—allow soldiers to combine protective coverage with efficient equipment carriage.
