Raytheon has commenced initial production of its SharpSight multi-domain surveillance radar, designed to provide high-altitude, real-time imaging and wide-area tracking across land and maritime domains under all weather and lighting conditions.
The system combines technologies from Raytheon’s Highly Integrated Synthetic Aperture Radar (HISAR) and SeaVue Multi-Role Radar, incorporating an open-architecture design that enables rapid integration on manned and unmanned platforms and supports cost-efficient modernization.
SharpSight is engineered for border and coastal surveillance, anti-surface warfare, search and rescue, and long-range monitoring missions. With an integrated automatic identification system (AIS), it can detect, track, and classify more than 1,000 targets simultaneously, ensuring enhanced situational awareness.
Featuring a 320-nautical-mile range and weighing 129 kilograms (284 pounds), the radar offers multiple antenna configurations to suit diverse platform and mission requirements.
