Polish scientists from Gdańsk University of Technology have introduced a non-explosive counter-drone system capable of disabling UAVs through electromagnetic effects, branding the concept an “invisible shield.”

Called STRATUS, the system generates brief, high-power electromagnetic pulses that interfere with onboard drone electronics, rendering hostile platforms inoperable. Its effector design enables accurate modulation of pulse strength, allowing operators to control impact while adhering to strict safety limits.

The technology is aimed at safeguarding high-value and sensitive locations, including airports, energy facilities, military bases, and other public infrastructure at risk from unauthorized drone activity.
