Hanwha Aerospace of South Korea has signed two significant agreements with Polish defense partners aimed at strengthening local ammunition certification and missile production capabilities.

The agreements align with Poland’s strategy to grow its domestic defense industry and reduce dependence on imports, following earlier deals with Hanwha for howitzers and rocket systems in the wake of Russia’s 2022 invasion of Ukraine.

As part of the collaboration, Hanwha signed an MoU with Poland’s Military Institute of Armament Technology (WITU) to jointly test 155mm ammunition with Polish Armed Forces platforms, conduct technical exchanges, and explore R&D opportunities.

Hanwha emphasized that the partnership will support certification of Poland’s self-propelled howitzers while laying the groundwork for a European ammunition production base.
