In an effort to strengthen Europe’s defense landscape, the UK and Norway have signed on to the Common Armored Vehicle System (CAVS) program, a multinational effort under Patria’s leadership. Their participation expands the coalition to seven countries, including Finland, Latvia, Sweden, Germany, and Denmark. The initiative revolves around the 6×6 armored platform, designed for troop transport, support missions, and combat adaptability. With a weight of 20 tons, a crew of three, and capacity for 10 troops, the platform delivers high mobility with a top speed of 100 km/h and endurance of 700 km. It is NATO-compliant and integrates seamlessly into joint operations. With nearly 1,000 units ordered, CAVS is shaping up to be a cornerstone of European armored mobility. The UK and Norway’s entry signals their commitment to shared procurement, interoperability, and stronger collective defense measures amid evolving security threats.
