Shield AI and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries are advancing drone autonomy by enabling unmanned systems to independently sense, adapt, and execute missions while tracking targets and collaborating with each other.
As part of this effort, Shield AI’s Hivemind autonomy software was integrated with MHI’s Affordable Rapid-Prototyping Mitsubishi Drone (ARMD) and demonstrated in a recent flight test in Japan.
During the demonstration, two drones autonomously applied reinforcement learning, executed pre-programmed behaviors, and performed coordinated maneuvers while tracking a simulated aerial target.
