L3Harris Technologies will upgrade multiple C-130 aircraft for the Royal Moroccan Air Force under a new modernization contract. The scope of work includes advanced avionics integration, structural maintenance, engine refurbishment, and logistical support.

The enhancements are designed to increase mission readiness and aircraft reliability across a range of operations, including tactical airlift, disaster response, and special missions.

Work on the fleet will commence in 2025 at L3Harris’ Waco, Texas, facility and will extend through 2029.

Renowned for its ruggedness, the C-130 is capable of takeoff and landing on improvised airstrips, such as dirt fields. Its adaptable interior allows for multiple mission setups—from troop deployment to the transport of armored vehicles and helicopters.

The aircraft supports aerial delivery via a rear ramp, capable of dropping loads of up to 42,000 pounds. Its high-flotation landing gear ensures performance in challenging terrains, making it a key asset in diverse operational scenarios.
