Airbus and L3Harris Technologies have secured contracts totaling 1.5 billion Canadian dollars ($1.07 billion) to ensure the operational readiness of the Royal Canadian Air Force’s CC-330 Husky tanker and transport aircraft.

Under the agreement, L3Harris will provide sustainment and materiel support services through two contracts valued at approximately 1.1 billion Canadian dollars ($789.2 million) over a decade. Airbus has been awarded 374 million Canadian dollars ($268.3 million) to deliver engineering and airworthiness services critical to maintaining fleet performance.

Ottawa emphasized that the contracts support its NATO-aligned defense spending objectives while reinforcing Canada’s aerospace industrial base and long-term defense preparedness.

The program is projected to sustain around 720 jobs across multiple provinces, including Quebec, Ontario, and Alberta, and contribute roughly 90 million Canadian dollars annually to Canada’s GDP.

The CC-330 Husky fleet will play a vital role in missions such as aerial refueling, logistics transport, and medical evacuation. Canada’s acquisition of nine aircraft—four newly built and five converted Airbus A330s—marks a transition from the legacy CC-150 Polaris fleet, which has been operational since the 1990s. Deliveries commenced in 2023, with further A330 arrivals scheduled from 2027 onward.
