Finland and Sweden have signed a joint contract worth 15 million euros ($17.5 million) with Finnish firm KNL to procure Cognitive Networked High Frequency (CNHF) Manpack radios, with deliveries scheduled to conclude by year’s end.

The CNHF system offers advanced real-time spectrum sensing, scanning over 4,000 channels simultaneously and selecting the best option in less than a second. Operating autonomously, it continuously adjusts transmission parameters to sustain stable communications, even in satellite-denied environments, using asynchronous connections without GPS reliance.

Supporting secure voice, data, and multimedia, CNHF enables resilient networks spanning from a few kilometers to several thousand. With intuitive design, it requires only a day of training and features standard interfaces for seamless integration into existing tactical communications and command-and-control systems.
