U.S.-based L3Harris Technologies and Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) have entered a strategic partnership to jointly develop the Blue Sky Warden, a light-attack and ISR aircraft engineered to meet Israel’s specific defense demands. The agreement underscores closer transatlantic defense cooperation and signals a shift toward cost-efficient, long-endurance combat platforms.
Based on the OA-1K Skyraider II design used in L3Harris’ Sky Warden program for U.S. Special Operations Command, the new variant will integrate precision strike weapons and state-of-the-art ISR systems. Under the signed Memorandum of Understanding, both companies will collaborate on co-development, technology sharing, and mission system integration to deliver a platform adaptable to future warfare needs.
