Elbit Systems is set to take Israel’s Iron Beam airborne, creating a version of the laser system for use by the Israeli Air Force. Originally developed by Rafael as a truck-mounted 100–150 kW laser capable of neutralizing drones, rockets, and cruise missiles cheaply, the technology is now being modified for aerial platforms, potentially expanding Iron Beam’s defensive capabilities far beyond the ground.
