Boeing has introduced the concept of the Collaborative Combat Rotorcraft (CxR), an autonomous tiltrotor drone intended to act as a loyal wingman alongside US military aircraft.
The CxR is expected to perform a wide range of missions, including logistics transport and maritime strike support.
Boeing’s preliminary specifications suggest the drone could reach 250 knots (288 miles/463 kilometers per hour) and handle payloads of up to 2,000 pounds (907 kilograms).
