Axiscades Technologies of India has signed an MoU with French defense manufacturer Cilas to introduce the Helma-P high-energy laser counter-drone system into the Indian market.

Under the agreement, the laser system will be paired with Axiscades’ command-and-control ecosystem and fitted onto the company’s mobile, vehicle-mounted counter-drone solutions.

Localizing sensors, C2 components, and maintenance support will advance India’s pursuit of defense self-sufficiency while meeting the nation’s operational requirements.

Helma-P System

Helma-P is a field-proven system capable of detecting, identifying, tracking, and disabling agile airborne targets with exceptional accuracy in both urban areas and open operational zones.

Its past operational use — including at the Paris 2024 Olympics — underscores its maturity and performance in demanding security environments.

The system offers an engagement range of up to 1.7 kilometers (0.62–4.34 miles) and can neutralize threats using either optical disruption or physical destruction.

With no need for ammunition, Helma-P eliminates per-engagement costs and operates quietly with low visual detectability.

In addition to unmanned aerial vehicles, it is effective against ground robots, radar systems, IEDs, rockets, artillery, and mortar rounds.
