In a major step toward bolstering local defense manufacturing, KNDS France has teamed up with Greece’s Metlen Energy & Metals to produce the “Philoctetes” infantry fighting vehicle. Based on the VBCI 8×8 platform used by the French Army, the project was announced as part of a 2022 modernization program. KNDS will provide technical knowledge on aluminum armor and the welded hull structure, reinforcing industrial ties between France and Greece while supporting large-scale production for both domestic deployment and potential European customers.
