General Atomics Aeronautical Systems is expanding its footprint in battle management and intelligence software through a new partnership with Qatar’s Barzan Holdings. The companies have signed a memorandum of understanding to jointly develop advanced software tools designed to enhance theater-level situational awareness. The cooperation framework brings together GA-ASI, its data-focused subsidiary GA-Intelligence, and Barzan to create systems capable of rapidly processing, correlating, and distributing intelligence from multiple sources. According to the partners, the goal is to support faster, more informed decision-making in complex multi-domain operations. The Qatar agreement aligns with GA-ASI’s broader strategy of emphasizing sensors, data, and integration alongside its unmanned aircraft platforms. Over the past year, the company has expanded collaboration with Saab to explore airborne early warning and control capabilities using the MQ-9B, integrating advanced sensors without relying on traditional crewed aircraft. GA-ASI has also continued cooperation with the UAE’s EDGE Group and South Korea’s Hanwha Aerospace, focusing on maritime surveillance and intelligence solutions using the MQ-9B SeaGuardian.
