The Netherlands Ministry of Defence and General Atomics Aeronautical Systems (GA-ASI) have entered a partnership to create a small, versatile uncrewed aircraft system tailored for intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) operations.

Designed for affordability and adaptability, the aircraft will support multiple payload configurations for diverse mission needs. GA-ASI has chosen VDL Defentec, a Dutch defense manufacturer, as the production partner—leveraging its experience in vehicle design, manufacturing, logistics, and sustainment.

Beyond aircraft development, the collaboration aims to build a domestic UAS production line and prepare for scalable, high-volume output. The first flight is targeted for late 2025, followed by initial production in 2026 across facilities in the U.S. and the Netherlands, strengthening transatlantic defense-industrial cooperation.
