The FV-014 loitering munition from Rheinmetall recently proved its accuracy and engagement capability during a live demonstration, revealing a system capable of striking targets as far as 100 kilometers (62 miles) away.
Conducted at the National Test Centre for Unmanned Aerial Systems of the German Aerospace Centre, the test saw the suicide drone perform several operational profiles and simulated combat maneuvers.
Launched from a land-based system, the drone analyzed its target in flight before successfully impacting an apparent armored vehicle, validating its precision and effectiveness.
