Embraer has unveiled the first C-390 Millennium aircraft destined for the Republic of Korea Air Force, following the completion of the final assembly phase at its production facility.

The rollout reflects South Korea’s 2023 selection of the C-390 under the government’s Large Transport Aircraft program, positioning the country as the launch customer for the platform in Asia.

As part of the agreement, Embraer will deliver not only the aircraft but also a support and sustainment package, working alongside local South Korean industry partners to maintain fleet availability throughout its service life.

Designed for tactical and strategic airlift missions, the C-390 Millennium can transport up to 26 tonnes of cargo or roughly 80 armed personnel. The aircraft’s flexible configuration allows it to carry multiple pallet combinations, airborne troops, or medical evacuation loads of up to 70 stretchers.

The aircraft is powered by twin IAE V2500-E5 engines and carries up to 23,000 kilograms of fuel, enabling long-distance operations. It features a maximum speed of over 900 km/h, a 6,000-kilometer range, and an operational ceiling of 11,000 meters.
