Edge Autonomy’s VXE30 Stalker drone has been selected by the US Army for the prototype stage of its Long Range Reconnaissance (LRR) program. The effort aims to field a transportable system capable of delivering reconnaissance, surveillance, and target acquisition in all weather scenarios, broadening the Army’s lineup beyond existing assets such as the RQ-11 Raven from AeroVironment. As part of the deal, Redwire Corporation’s subsidiary will provide the aircraft outfitted with advanced sensors, secure communication links, autonomous operation features, and mission-specific modular payloads. Designed for long-duration surveillance in contested areas, the VXE30 will be tested by the Army in the near future.
