Diehl Defence has signed a memorandum of understanding with Ripo Remonta Centrs to form a joint venture aimed at supporting ground-based air defense systems across the Baltic region.

The agreement includes maintenance, repair, and technical support for systems such as Diehl’s IRIS-T SLM, which Latvia and Estonia are acquiring under a 2023 contract, with deliveries expected to begin in 2026.

The partnership will establish a regional service hub in Latvia, improving response times and operational support for Baltic and nearby European operators.

The deal was advanced during a mid-March meeting between Andris Sprūds and Boris Pistorius.
