Destinus Group BV has completed the acquisition of Daedalean AG, a Zürich-headquartered leader in aviation-focused artificial intelligence, in a transaction valued at CHF 180 million (around USD 225 million). Under the agreement, Daedalean will become a core center of excellence within Destinus, focused on AI development, autonomy research, and advanced perception systems.

Daedalean’s expertise and technologies will continue to underpin AI innovation in the civil aviation sector, particularly in areas such as safety-critical autonomy, pilot-assist functions, and advanced navigation and perception systems. At the same time, integration with Destinus is expected to accelerate the deployment of AI-enabled capabilities for defense applications, including navigation in GNSS-contested environments, advanced seeker and perception technologies for interceptors, cruise missiles, and one-way attack systems, as well as autonomous mission planning and decision-making for high-speed platforms.

The combined portfolio also extends to swarming and cooperative multi-agent behaviors for mass-deployed unmanned systems, along with robust sensor fusion supported by onboard AI reasoning to ensure resilient operations in highly contested battle spaces.

Through the acquisition, Destinus significantly enhances its ability to deliver sovereign European AI capabilities across its autonomous systems range, reinforcing its vertically integrated approach to defense manufacturing while supporting both national security priorities and the continued modernization of civil aviation.
