Washington has cleared a $620 million arms sale to Bulgaria, covering a Naval Strike Missile Coastal Defense System and related gear, under the Foreign Military Sales program.

The agreement includes tactical Naval Strike Missiles and three Link-16 MIDS-JTRS units for secure, real-time data sharing across military platforms.

Also part of the deal are mobile missile launchers and fire control centers with integrated communications, as well as GPS devices, training consoles, and tools for missile loading and transportation.

The package will be supported by integration services and technical assistance from both the US government and Norwegian defense firm Kongsberg Defence and Aerospace, which is named as the lead contractor.

Implementation will involve a small US team—three to five personnel—temporarily deployed to Bulgaria.

The US Department of Defense stated the sale supports its foreign policy by reinforcing Bulgaria’s defense posture and enhancing its coordination with US and NATO operations.
