The British Army is seeking an autonomous collaborative platform (ACP) to complement its fleet of Apache AH-64E attack helicopters. Building on the Royal Air Force’s StormShroud ACP initiative launched in May, the service wants an unmanned system capable of conducting reconnaissance, target acquisition, precision strikes, and countermeasure suppression to enhance the survivability and combat effectiveness of its Apaches.

According to a UK Ministry of Defence notice, the platform should be highly autonomous, designed to be “commanded” rather than directly piloted.

Requirements include vertical take-off and landing capability, a payload capacity above 200 kilograms (441 pounds), and an integrated support network. The system should also provide scalable autonomy, with features such as AI-assisted decision-making, digital twin technology, synthetic training environments, and strong cyber and data protections.

To engage industry, the British Army will host a workshop on 21 August at the Defence BattleLab in Dorset.
