The defense ministries of Ukraine and the United Kingdom have formalized a new phase of cooperation to co-produce thousands of Octopus-100 interceptor drones. Signed in London, the accord falls under the “Build with Ukraine” initiative and will see production carried out in British facilities. This makes the Octopus-100 the first Ukrainian-designed combat drone to be mass-produced in a NATO country, marking a milestone in industrial collaboration.
For Kyiv, the agreement means faster deployment and sustained production to meet ongoing battlefield needs. For London, it consolidates the UK’s role as a strategic defense manufacturing hub. The announcement came shortly after President Zelensky showcased the Octopus drone to the British Prime Minister, emphasizing the program’s importance for both nations.
The Octopus-100 is tailored for intercept missions, designed to engage enemy drones and defend critical assets. While technical details remain undisclosed, its production goals indicate a platform built for scalability, modularity, and NATO-level quality control. The initiative highlights a growing trend toward shared defense manufacturing within allied nations.
